I think a lot of people get really impatient these days. With so much in our lives available at the touch of a button, people forget how blessed they are to live in a time where computers even existed. People get impatient with illness and injuries, where they are more easily treated and can get taken care of with time, even though way back when people would die of such things. Why are we so impatient?
I know, it's hard. I'm certainly not the best example of patience, but I have realized that I am getting better at it. Growing up and going to college has started to teach me that, and teach me more about myself. Patience is one thing that is extremely important, even if it is hard to attain. Just practice it, and be thankful for what you have while waiting for the best to happen.
What was that one thing that your mom always used to say to you?
Patience is a Virtue.
Smile, live on, and learn some patience. You will find that happiness getting greater each day.

Straightway
The other day I was walking home from work, and I looked up and decided to walk straight towards the stop sign on the opposite corner. It was going to be the fastest way home if I just walked straight. I realized that there were a lot of things to look at, and I did waver a little bit, going left and right. Which is funny, because it was through an empty parking lot.
Why do I bring this up? Seems a bit stupid in all reality. But if you think about goals in your life, are you walking towards them, or are you forgetting them at times and going somewhere that won't really take you anywhere at all? It's good to have variety in your life, don't get me wrong, it's good to have other things to work towards too- but you need a common goal I think to find that happiness. Happiness comes from doing what is right for you, and you need to work towards that common goal to get through anything. You can look around, but make sure you aren't just looking at another empty parking lot. What's the point of getting distracted over nothing? Have fun, have a bunch of it, but don't let it get in the way of doing something that will make you really happy.
That may not have made much sense... But I hope that you catch the gist of my idea. Just find a goal that will encompass your mini goals for happiness, jobs, activities, and the people you hang out with. Keep with that goal and you surely can't loose.
Just a thought.

Dots and Stars

Have you ever read this book? It's a good one. It may be only a few pages, but it is a lesson to be learned. In it are dots and stars, stickers given to you depending on what others thought of you. Stars meant they others liked you, dots meant that others thought you weren't as good as they. It's sort of sad, but it is a bit true in the life around us. Everyone is constantly judging one another, everyone cares about what others think of them. It's not right.
Now, I'm not saying that you just sit there and not care about what others thing to the point that you don't care what you are. You need to always be striving to be a good person, that is where happiness comes from. But you aren't supposed to base it off other's views. Find that truth that you believe in and try to become a better person through it. I can personally tell you that it works. It helps you find that happiness you need. As you strive to do that, you stop giving others "dots" and "stars" and start to make the world a better place.
Happiness is all about making the world a better place to be in. It's true, just think about it for a while if you don't believe me. If we are trying to better ourselves and fulfill our true potential, and not base it after others views on you but off your own views on yourself, you can find that happiness. It will start a chain reaction that is little by little, but quite effective.
What better way to start to be happier?
Get rid of those dots and stars and remember who you really are. Not what people think you are.

One Step at a Time
Sure, life gets busy. Oh, how well I know that right now. But there really isn't point to stressing too much about it. You can't do everything at once, so you might as well remember to just take one step at a time. You can do it, just organize yourself, your priorities, and your wants. It will fall into place if you remember what is truly important in that moment.
Just relax, take one step at a time, and remember- you can still be happy!!
I've been trying to do it, how about you?

Early to Bed, Early to Rise
I've found lately that going to bed relatively "early"- or at least for college students- and waking up a bit earlier makes my day a whole lot better. I feel happier, and I get things done, and the rest of the day just seems to run by so much smoother. I love it.
It's not healthy to stay up late, and wake up, exhaust yourself with school work or other work, and then stay up all night again. It's just not right for our bodies. Some people have trouble sleeping, that is a whole different case which I cannot talk about adequately. But for those who should be able to have normal bodily schedules, should probably start thinking about making their lifestyle's more healthy. Healthier=Happier
It's hard, but it's worth it!

Just keep swimming....
When life gets you down.... you know what you gotta do?
That's right. Dori has it right.
A few of my friends and my family would agree in saying that I can be a little scatterbrained like Dori. But in all actuality, I think being like Dori is an awesome thing. We all have those hard times. We all need to be lifted up and brought back out to the sunshine. How do we do that? Or rather, how do we not do that? I think a lot of people living right now on earth just feel like giving up when life throws a curve ball. How is that supposed to help at all? It may be hard, but it's doable. We can all get up and "just keep swimming," as Dori suggests.
I challenge you to just keep swimming through life, and to show everyone that you believe you can make it. I believe in you. So you should believe in yourself too.
Just do it ;)
